Flashback Friday
Finally, fantastic weather has arrived. Truth be told, we are out enjoying the warm sunshine and cool breezes, tending to herb gardens and a few tomato and pepper plants. There’s also a long overdue landscaping project about to begin in Virginia Beach. So this post will be short and sweet. We’ve decided to share a few of our easy, all time hit recipes on this Flashback Friday. Any or all are great picnic fare. So wherever you are, we wish you a good weekend and hope that you can get out and enjoy some lovely weather.
Party pizzas were a huge success and blew this little blog off the charts. They are really simple to make and the nice thing about this recipe is that you can use up whatever happens to be in the fridge. A package of puff pastry, some leftovers and you are a genius!
About to go berry picking? Turn those strawberries, raspberries and blueberries into an elegant dessert. Summer pudding is simple to make but looks like you’ve spent lots of time and effort in the kitchen. A couple of slices of bread molded into a cup, filled with fresh berries and served with freshly whipped cream. This is sublime! Summer pudding is for right now.
Last but not least is a classic Swedish shrimp mix called Skagenröra. It’s popular throughout Sweden and has an interesting little history. It’s another recipe that you can whip up and then rely on your imagination to serve it any way you want. We’ll let you check out the history and Oli’s favorite ways to serve this slightly zesty shrimp mix. Please let us know how you served it.
These recipes are quick, easy and make for a great alfresco feast. We hope you enjoy our little flash back Friday and perhaps a nice picnic as well.
All three dishes are looking very good, Gina. Those party pizzas are perfect for the weekend brunch with a glass of chilled white followed by that sexy berry dessert! I don’t even want to tell you how much we love avocado.
Happy Gardening and have a marvelous summer weekend!
Angie
